Tucked away in Yaletown is the very tiny O-Cha tea bar. Should the selection of tea and coffees provided there become even slightly larger (it already serves over thirty types of tea), it will almost certainly burst at the seams and have to move.
The small size of this unassuming coffee/tea/sandwich bar does not at all detract from its overall appeal. O-Cha struck me as a place to quietly enjoy a hot drink or food while contemplating the health benefits and phonetics of substances like rooiboos tea. I enjoyed a fantastic coffee while observing busy Yaletownies scurry about on their lunch breaks in the rain.
On the food side (this is Vancouver EATS out after all), O-Cha offers light fare, such as grilled paninis (onions optional for those who must return to work), sandwiches and convenient, semi-instant thai food by Thai on the Fly or something catchy like that. The paninis are very good, and the coffee, even though this is a tea bar, is phenomenal.
All in all, this is a quiet escape in the midst of busy Yaletown. You will surely find your five minutes of zen here.

Hello!
We are writing to you to ask for your support for our Annual Fall Bazaar. This is a large event for the two hundred residents of the Extended Care Unit, the 6,000 employees of the hospital and the many visitors and members of the public who attend. This year our bazaar is on Friday, November 9th and we will have a Country Fair Theme!
We hope you will be able to help by making a donation to be used as a Raffle prize,as an item for our Silent Auction or perhaps a Basket for the Gift Basket Draw. Tickets for the raffle are always sold well in advance of the event throughout the Hospital by all the staff, family members and residents. The raffle is a very popular part of the bazaar, as well as offering good publicity for our donors. For any Donation over $50 in value, an email is sent out on the Vancouver Coastal Heath wide email system for advance bidding as well as live bidding at the event!
Banfield is part of Vancouver General Hospital, which is part of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, and is home to 200 adults who, for various reasons – physical, or cognitive, will live out their days here. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of life for everyone here. In particular, we provide recreational programming to meet the needs of this large group.
We hope you will consider us for a donation to help make this year’s Bazaar the most successful yet! Please let us know if you are able to help, and of course, call us if you have any questions. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely Yours
Natalie Chapman
